This year again I’m one of the judges for The International Rubery Book Award along with Clare Morrall and Ann Evans. It’s a growing competition for independently published and self-published books with prizes of £1000, £200 and £75.
We get to see novels, poetry collections, children’s books, memoirs and much more besides and it’s always a pleasure to read them, to see the quality and to know that the independent book publishing world really is thriving. I’ve read some truly amazing books since I’ve been a judge and this year looks like being the same.
